Calder Valley’s Labour MP, Chris McCafferty, last night joined Lib Dem MPs in opposing the immediate renewal of the Trident nuclear weapons system.
Chris McCafferty was one of 95 MPs who rebelled against the Labour government plans.
A Tory/Labour pact of 409 MPs ensured that the Labour plans for renewal of Trident were passed.
At an often lively, and robustly debated meeting on Wednesday 14th March, Hebden Royd Town Council passed its budget for the forthcoming financial year of 2007/08.
